Translate the elements of design and color into a bold and beautiful painting. Create a riot of color as we explore paints that mix well together. We will examine the many ways to emphasize the focal point of your painting and learn some fail proof methods that can be applied to any subject.
Discover the thrill of painting as we relax and have fun with watercolors.
Supplies you'll need: Bring a few of your favorite photos of flowers, trees, cactus, fruit, or vegetables.
Bring your general watercolor supplies such as paper and pencil for sketching, 2 water containers, tissue and old hand towel, and paint palette.
Paint brushes recommended are #8 round, #12 round, 1/2" flat, 3/4" flat, and a liner brush.
Bring your favorite paints including warm and cool of each primary. Some of my favorites are listed below.
YELLOWS: Indian Yellow, transparent yellow, lemon yellow, Quinacridone Gold
REDS: Cadmium Red Light, Lukas Red, Red Rose Deep, Opera, Scarlet Lake
BLUES: Cobalt Blue, Indanthrene Blue, Ultramarine Blue, Peacock Blue, and Payne's Gray
GREENS: May Green, Hookers Green Dark, Phthalo Green, Cobalt Turquoise
ORANGES: Permanent Orange
BROWNS: Burnt Sienna
VIOLETS: Quinacridone Magenta, Purple
